Best known as desk clerk Jerry Markovic on the internationally acclaimed hospital drama ER, Abraham Benrubi has been working steadily in television and feature films for over two decades. Abraham has appeared in several films, most notably as a biker harassing Sean Penn in Oliver Stone’s U-TURN, oversized cowboy Mose in Kevin Costner’s OPEN RANGE,  and outlaw pot farmer Dennis in WITHOUT A PADDLE. He can also be seen in the 
Benrubi is a much beloved actor whose memorable series regular roles include romantic bartender Ben Thomasson on ABC’s MEN IN TREES, eccentric scientist Vincent Konefke alongside Bruce Greenwood and Naomi Watts on NBC’s SLEEPWALKERSand lovable giant Larry Kubiac, (affectionately known as “The Kubeon Fox Network’s PARKER LEWIS CAN’T LOSEHis guest roles on television series include ONCE UPON A TIME, CRIMINAL MINDS, THE X-FILES
WINGS, and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Benrubi can also be heard on the Cartoon Network’s irreverent stop-motion spectacular ROBOT CHICKEN, as the voices of Fidel Castro, Darth Vader, Optimus Prime and many other characters.
A native of Indianapolis, he grew up acting on stage at the Indianapolis Civic Theater and pretending to be SPIDER-MAN in his grandmothers basement. Outside of acting, Benrubi is a self-defined music junkie, art lover, comic-book fan, gaming nerd, voracious reader and beach bum.
